As a fourth generation impressionist, a member of The Oil Painters of America and The American Watercolor Society, I have been painting and exhibiting my work for over fourty years. Capturing in vibrant colors and compositions, scenes from New England, The Amalfi Coast, Tuscany, The Caribbean, Alaska and Florida. I work in both large format oils and watercolors.
Many of my pieces created are sight specific commissions that bring together you or your interior designer's concepts for home or office.

My Childrens Books:
Imagine giant mounds of yellow sand, rolling under a bright blue sky, the Dunes.
On warm summer days the sand squishes between your toes like soft butter. Scrub pine and oaks, beach grass and lichen, splash the dunes like green from an artist's brush.
Here plants thrive in only sand, and yet, "as if by magic" their delicate flowers in spring yeild in autumn, a bounty of purple plums, orange rosehips, blueberries, cranberries and more.
The dunes of the Province Lands, created thousands of years ago, are a very active place in summer. The artists that visit there and the animals that live amid the beautiful landscape, leave their footprints in the sand.
Now, follow one tiny set of paw prints and you will find a special little critter named, VICTOR.
Writing and illustrating "VICTOR", a childrens book about a dune mouse, was the focus of my dune quest for the past two years. And with great appreciation to The Peaked Hill Trust, I thank them for giving me the opportunities to stay in their shacks.
Copies are for sale to the public starting in June 2015 @ $20.00 +S&H
"A Crow In Grandma's Kitchen" is a 12" x 9" perfect bound children's book I wrote and illustrated recently . The story takes us into a warm and cozy kitchen, where we enjoy a winter day with Abigail Nancy, Grandma and her silly crow.
The extraordinary friendship between a little girl and a wild bird is strengthened by the understanding that it must eventually be set free .
Copies are still available @ $15.00 +S&H
In September '08 I self published a hard bound book about my family:
Feast or Famine –Growing up Bohemian In Provincetown - conveying a daughters sadness as her mother slowly loses the ability to breathe and to remember, while the humorous short stories and illustrations of a loving and zany artist family are ever up-lifting. This book becomes a vehicle in which the entire family travels back in time to help their mother remember her bohemian past, and what makes this book so memorable, is that we are allowed to go there as well.
Over 120 sketches, paintings, illustrations, and photographs from John Whorf, Nancy Whorf and Julia Whorf Kelly lend visual reference to the dynamics of creativity found in this family.
The first edition is limited to 2000 copies ,and if you're interested please call or email for more information or purchase. Case bound and smythe sewn this book will be shrunk wrapped, and retail for $50 + shipping and / or FL sales tax if applicable.
INSPRIATION FROM THE DUNES
Big Thanks to OCARC, Outer Cape Artists in Residence Consortium for bringing me home. My stay at Margo Gelb shack gave me inspiration with every breathe.
Each year since July, 2013, I have spent time in different shacks on the dunes of the Cape Cod National Seashore with no electricity or running water, but a spetacular panoramic view of the inside of my mind.
Writing the final chapters of a novel, painting plein aire and keeping up with the coyote life.
NEW WORK !!! NEW WORK !!! NEW WORK !!!
THE RECENT PAST
With renewed inspiration, rich light and intimate visual stories, I revisited through paintings of the Amalfi Coast and Vernazza in Italy.
Some of these new watercolors and well as large oils, are still available.
In September 2017 I returned again to Pienza, Italy , where for fourteen years I have been immersed in painting plein aire in the romantic Tuscan landscape.
With an intense interest, I'm still madly in love with Italy, and continue to work in watercolors, both small and large oils from sketches and photography.
From New England to Italy, Florida, The Caribbean and most recently Alaska and British Colombia or children's books to still lifes, my true passion for color is always a large part of my lifestyle. If you're interested in my work please visit:
